Why doesn't Xbox Live support multiplayer between Xbox One and Xbox 360?

Why doesn't Xbox Live support multiplayer between Xbox One and Xbox 360?

Is this a problem that can be solved by changing settings on Xbox 360 or is this an intentional design decision by Microsoft to try to force 360 owners to shell out hundreds of $$$$ for all new Xbox One equipment and games, just to be able to keep playing with friends who migrate?

Any fixes or workarounds would be appreciated, if they exist.  If not, please understand how badly you're harming your relationship with your customers Microsoft, with this kind of proprietary silliness.

The same reason why PS4 people cannot play with PS3 people or Wii U people can't play with Wii people.  Different hardware is being used so a different game is released on every console.  If it's literally a different game how do you expect it to be compatible?
Why doesn't Xbox Live support multiplayer between Xbox One and Xbox 360?
The problem is to port the original source code, from one language into another, for games, built and optimized, specific for each system. Xbox 360 and Xbox One uses different components and particularly, the x86 processing architectures. This limitation is not only related to Xbox One, but also, PS3 emulation on PS4 is not supported, as described above.
