Do you have another headset or controller you can test this with? If not, does a friend have any you can borrow?

Well, you may want to try replacing the mic first, as it should be cheaper, but without having anything else to test, I'm afraid we can't really judge what's the cause of the issue here.

I just purchased a new controller I wore my last one out. My new one turns off as soon as the headset is plugged in. New batteries, usb plugged in or not, power cycled still nothing?!! Still works fine on my other controller but that one has a sticky left stick. HELP!!

You're posting in a 4 year old topic...make a new topic. Change your batteries. Even if it's plugged in it draws power from the batteries. Change the brand of batteries...but seriously go make your own topic. Why don't topics auto close after being 2 or 3 months old?
