Because Microsoft wants the Xbox 360 to be a closed system.

That means there are less chances of being hacked and phished.

There are already a LOT of people being phished, without even having a web browser on the 360!

I don't understand the fascination with getting a web browser for the console, there has not been one yet that does not suck.

Personally I hope MS never introduce one, it opens up too many possibilities for bad things to happen.

Even if it did the browser would be Internet Explorer which we all know is not that good. And actually browsing around would be no different than using the internet on your cell phone. Everything would be very limited. Rather than actually creating a browser, there are apps to replace that such as Facebook and Twitter on the dashboard. The reason why they added those app in is because they figured that if there was a web browser then that is what most people would use it for. Youtube is also coming this Fall to the dashboard.

Oh and when I say they I mean the Xbox staff =)

I checked out your link there, most of the information in it can be referenced except the web browser assumption in the Fall 2011 Update. Do you have a valid source that says it is coming to the 360?

As you can see from the above, there is no mention of a web browser coming, from an official MS source.
