Why cant I change the Windows Live ID associated with my account?

I created and signed up this account with Gold Membership to Xbox Live on the 24th March.

 

It's been over 30 days, and I'm still getting the error: You can change your windows live ID once every 30 days, and not in the first 30 days of creating your account.

 

I called Xbox Support and they said each time you get that error, the 30 day timer resets and you have to try again 30 days from the moment you get the error.

 

Somehow I get the feeling that is not the case at all.

I am getting the same error and i don't know what to do. I changed it 33 days ago and i'm doing it from the computer amd it says "The Windows Live ID can't be changed at this time" And i need to change it asap. What do i do?

Hey there Ninja! I'm sorry to hear about this issue. I would recommend taking phone supports suggestion for now and see if that helps. When was the last time you attempted a WLID change? Can you wait 30-35 days from that point and then try changing it again? Let us know if that helps, thanks!

I tried changing it yesterday (30th April). Do I seriously have to wait until the 30th of May to change it? I've never heard of having to do this previously and its beyond a joke. Can you remove the timer for me given that I've waited it out? Or perhaps change the windows live ID associated with the account for me?

Thank you. I do not have the service numbers because I never asked for them, the support representatives I call tend to tell me the wrong things so I dont know why I need to hold on to them, sorry. I'm going to try again over the Xbox, I'll post back if it works now. Otherwise still no luck, please look into this and thank you for your time :)

Nevermind, I dont mind anymore, I will wait 30 days from today until I can change it, and will repost if the issue remains then. Thank you.

the 30 day waiting period isn't Xbox Live's restriction, it's from Windows Live. So they won't be able to remove the waiting period for you. I've never heard of it resetting from the time you've last downloaded your profile, so I don't believe that that is the case. It should only be from the last time you've attempted to change it. Also, are you trying to change it on account.live.com or the console itself?

Called a new support agent, so apparently its 30 days from when your profile was last downloaded/recovered. Can anyone confirm this?
