What is going on? Cant connect to xbox 360 live, have gold membership, will not let me update payment method....

What is going on?  I get home today and my xbox 360 cant connect to live, i try and it says i need to update my payment method (which is current and correct). 

when i try to sign in it says

"your membership is suspended until you update your payment option.

we'll charge your payment option and reactivate your membership after you update your account, but there may be some delay.  to see your account info, visit www.xbox.com/account."

all of my account and payment info is correct, my internet connection is fine, plenty of money in the bank....  what the heck is going on??????

now it gives me the option to update payment information so i click on it, it acts like its gonna move to that step then another error saying "sorry, we cant connect to the xbox service.  it may be a temporary problem with your connection to the service.  get specific help at www.xbox.com/networkhelp."

what....  the....  heck man?

I'm in a 3 hour call back waiting line with them...  so thats that.  Im in US btw.  So nobody else is having this issue?

yes I do know that you are no buying stuff but this may be affecting you. but having a chat would normally work on xbox.com

I'm having same issue.  It says I don't have Gold, but they sure as hell have been taking money out of my bank account for it.

Xbox finally called me back 3 hours later, it was a robot.  it put me on hold for half an hour then hung up on me.  Gotta love that.  Hey they got everybodys money on lock down, they don't care, right?

now purchase error has been fixed, still saying error when entering new xbox live gold code

ok if you guys are trying to buy gold on the xbox you cant you need it to be on xbox.com or by prepaid code (@  zany and switter) also @ switter, have you tried to remove auto payment?
