Thanks Whagi, i may go for that one then

I think it is a fair comparison otherwise I would not have made it. There are people who will buy a device solely for one reason alone.

I recommend avoiding EA sports active. Its so unresponsive and and anoying you will be able to use the heart rate tracker to see how frustrated you are getting with it (when you see it reach the top turn off, you are about to throw something expensive).

Yourshape on the other hand, is awesome.

of course, that is stating the obvious. Although Wii fit was made and marketed for one purpose, where as Kinect was made and marketed for many. As I'm sure the OP will be using it for, as are all us kinect users. Especially Your Shape, which is one of the best of the bunch for Kinect.

OP: I have EA active & YS:FE. I would recommend Your Shape 100% of the time. It's just a lot better as a package, and most of it is actually fun to do.

Well I admit that was conjecture on my part.  Still, my uni gym is about 100 euro per semester and 185 for the full term. That's only the student offer though. I understand other gyms are more expensive.

Kinect costs something between 130-150 euro and a fitness game is about 40-60 euro.

Even if it's more expensive I still think it's way better value for money.

I'm sure no one buys Kinect, just for one fitness game, they will no doubt be getting more titles in the future.

[/quote]Tell that to all those people who rushed out for the Wii Fit.

Also, damn, what the hell am I doing posting at 5 o'clock in the morning?

We've got Fitness Evolved which is good but I found the menu system a bit difficult to get to grips with and consistently found the game repeating certain programs that I'd been through on set up.

To be fair the free game that comes with it, Kinect Adventures, gets your heart rate up, but if its a workout program your'e after then I agree with the guys above Fitness Evolved is probably the best to date, even with a dodgy menu system.

(Or perhaps its just me with the menu thing).

I bought Your Shape yesterday after looking at the reviews of the others, e.g. Mel B, EA fitness and Biggest Loser and I have to say I am loving it.

I did a small workout yesterday and only burned 200 calories but ache like mad today ! It was £25 and worth every penny, alright its only the first couple of days but I can feel the burn as they say!

It responsive to your body movements very well, the menu's are a bit of a pain till you get used to them, not the worst I have seen though. The chioces of classes/sessions look good but I haven't gone through a lot as of yet.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fitness game, but as some have said, the other Kinect games can make you break a sweat.

Its all about how much you put into it. If you are going to play it half heartedly then you won't get that much out of it. I have read forums where people have bought Your Shape just for the achievements and sit in a chair swinging arms and legs to burn the calories to get the achievements. That kind of defeats the whole point of the game but like I said its how you want to put into it. Personally I am sure my neigbours wonder what the hell I am doing as they walk past, but I don't care lol.!
