What is a better choice? 1080p or 1680x1050?

I am trying to find out what is the best setting to run my Xbox on. When I connect my monitor with an HDMI cable it gives me the options to select 1080p or 1680x1050. What is the best setting? My monitor is 24" with a True Resolution: WUXGA 1920X1200. I have tried both settings and the 1080p setting is full screen and the 1680x1050 setting has black bars on the top and bottom but im not sure which setting has a better picture.

What do you think I should choose?

Use the 1080p setting. You'll be using all the horizontal resolution and nearly all the vertical resolution.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same thing but just wanted a second opinion.

You'll want to use the setting Silent Paradigm mentioned because its closer than 1680x1050 to your monitor's native resolution. so your monitor won't have to do much work and will reduce input lag.
