What Disc Are They Referring too?

I just set-up my X-Box 360. After it received the mandatory updates through the internet. It's now asking to insert disc that came with the console. What disc are they referring too? It didn't come with a disc. Just the Sega Superstars Tennis/Live Arcade Compilation game disc. What should I do? It won't let me pass this screen.

I remember reading something like this before and the suggestion was to just put in a game disc.
Have you tried that yet?.

If the error it specifically says is:

""TO PLAY THIS DISK PUT IT IN A XBOX 360 CONSOLE"

That means that the game you are trying to play is not being recognized properly, either becasue the DVD drive itself is not flashed properly, or the disc itself is scratched or bad.

If this happens to every game you try, that means that the DVD drive in the console is not proper.  Did you ever change the DVD in the XBOX in the past?  is the XBOX refurbished?

Yes, I tried booting up the system without the internet connection. And the error specifically says "Please insert disc that came with the console." when I turn it on. This is the first time I hooked it up. It's fresh out of the box. It's not refurbished or used. The box has never been opened.  And no disc is supplied but the game disc.

Have you tried to unplug and plug back in the console?

And What kind of console do you have a XBOX 360 Slim console (Black) or a original XBOX 360 (White)?

If it's a Kinect bundle...disconnect the Kinect while the power is off, then boot up the system.  Run through any prompts you get setting up then shut down and reconnect your Kinect.  After you power back on if it asks for a disc, then insert the game disc.  It should run its installation of any firmware updates you need.

I haven't gone through this but I know I've read about this happening before.  Hope I remember the steps to get you up and running!

Found this on google:

If you have a Kinect Sensor connected to the Xbox 360 S, turn off the console first and remove the Kinect Sensor. Then, restart the console and go through the initial set up. After the set up is complete, turn off the console and reconnect the Kinect Sensor. Restart the console and you will be prompted to insert the game disc that came with the device, which is Kinect Adventures. Insert the disc and it will update the console then go through the Kinect set up. Problem solved.

Thx to all that replied. Especially Talax Lives and Schisma. I did your suggestions and it worked. Except it didn't ask me for the Kinect Ad. disc. If it does later; I know what to do. I'm up and running. Thx again.
