Weird DNS Problem....

The problem here is everytime i turn on my xbox , it signs in my profile but doesnt connect to xbox live. So i go to network settings and i look at the DNS settings and it only gives a number for the primary dns server, but not the secondary number, and that number is not the right number. I went and did ipconfig/all on my computer and it gave me my DNS server numbers : Primary: 8.15.12.5 and Secondary: 8.5.244.6. Now again when  i sign in my xbox it connects me to the router but not the internet and gives me the wrong DNS server number. Now if i disconnect from the router and reconnect it will connect this time with the two correct DNS numbers that i posted. I tried putting the exact same numbers in but in manual mode but it doesnt work.... Now i dont wanna have to go to network settings, disconnect from router etc., everytime i sign in. So is there something else i can do so it automatically puts the right numbers in when i sign in ? Thanks.

I would recommend putting Google's DNS in manually. It is 8.8.8.8

Are you receiving an error message regarding DNS errors at all? I'm curious--when you run a LIVE connection test when you're unable to connect, what's the exact error message you're receiving?

So i switched back to my old router( TrendNet 452BRP) and everything works again. My other router was a Linksys phone adapter or whatever that didnt work. My ISP is coming Wednesday because my internet is Rogers , but we switched to Bell to get faster internet for cheaper.... Kind of an irrelevant question but does it matter which router is use because if my old one works fine im just going to stick with it. And also i went on my routers homepage and there was an option to turn on Super G mode, which is currently off, should i turn this on? will it do anything? Thanks, decided to put these questions in here instead of making a new thread. P.s : should i turn on extended range mode?

Hey mate, it certainly wouldn't hurt to try those options out, to see if they help resolve the connection issue. If your old router is working fine, though, it wouldn't hurt to stick with it, as long as you're happy with the wireless strength and speed.
