I'd play it safe and send it away for repair.

By the way it sounds you already plugged it in while it was still wet. You seem to have a very clear picture of the lights on the front and then you asked if you should dry it out.  If it had gotten wet and you hadn't already plugged it in frying the console I would have suggested removing the outer casing as soon as possible and going in by hand and drying off all excess moisture(visible water drops) along all major connection points. As you have already [Mod Removed – Profanity] the console by plugging it in all you can hope to do is to lie to microsoft about what happened or tell the truth and pay the full repair price. Seeing as you've already posted this problem on an official forum connected to your official account with microsoft my guess is you're going to have to pay the full price.

Probably this would be covered in home insurance. You can get it serviced or repaired by Microsoft, and try to claim in your home insurance if your insurance has content cover.

It doesn't hurt to attempt to dry it out, sometimes (i've had cases) it is a miracle and the water damage doesn't effect the tech. It is true in the future you should probably dry things out before you power them on again, but in this case removing the covering, blow drying on a very low heat, and just having it air out could do the trick. Bear in mind though read warranty instructions first, sometimes removing or fiddling with the console could cause the warranty to become null.

In any case itbwould probably be cheaper to buy a replacement than pay for repairs. I have seen them go for 60 CDN these days.
