Using UVerse and unable to connect Xbox Live

Mornign everyone.  I am still checking the forums, but I am finding that my particular issue is not addressed.  I previously had an issue where my UVerse (using a Motorola NVG589) had the NAT setting set to Moderate.  I believe I opened the encessary port and redid the connection test where no errors came up.  When I try to log into my XBox Live account (Silver), I still can not connect to the system.  Has anyone encountered this issue, or am I missing a step in the process?

Thank you.

Hey there Mustang!

I'm sorry to hear about the issues connecting to Xbox Live. Let's see what we can do to get things sorted.

To start things off, here's a handful of questions to help us better understand the situation:

 1. Were you able to connect to Xbox Live before trying to Open your NAT?
 2. What steps exactly did you take to Open your NAT?
 3. When did you receive your Motorola Gateway?
 4. Have you always had issues since getting your Gateway?
 5. Take a look at This Sticky and post back with the information in bold at the bottom so we can get a better idea of your setup.

Let us know and we'll work with you from there! ^_^

Thanks, will do so.  I can answer now, that we just received the Gateway on July 27, 2013 and upgrading from ATT DSL and using a D-Link wireless router for my home network.  I just attempted to log in this week, but  I will fill out the information in bold tonight.

Here is what I was able to find on my machine.

What Country/State/Province do you live in?: Georgia/USA

Modem brand & model number: (Gateway) Motorola NVG589

Router brand & model number:

Things you have tried:

Is UPnP Enabled? Unknown but I believe No

Do you have a NAT error? Unknown... various games state the NAT is set to OPEN.  Yet, I can not log into XBOX Live

Any Error Codes you encounter:  80151901b

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)?  ATT Uverse

After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" press “Y” for "More Info”. In the pop-up that appears, what are the following values, if shown? (If a value below does not appear for you, just leave it blank.)

W: 0000-000B

X: 0000-F001

Y: 20A8-48E0

Z: 0000-0000

ID: FFFF-FFFF

L: 8015-190B

Q: 0015-10F1

T: WITED

D:

S:

C:

Addityional Values:

A: 192.168.1.74/255.255.255.0

G: 192.168.1.254

D: 192.168.1.254/0.0.0.0

I am showed as being logged in locally on the machine after going through the error screens, but I can nto conenct to XBOX Live.  Again, NAT shows as OPEN on HALO Reach and HALO 4 (only 2 games tested), updates can be downloaded with no problem, and the connectivity test shows everything is okay.

Greetings Mustang!

Appreciate if you could describe how your Xbox connects, going through your networking devices and to the WAN/Public side of your network. Thank you!

The XBox is directly conencted to the Gateway through a wired connection.  No longer on the wireless.

Hey there Mustang!

 1. Did a wired connection yield better results for you?
 2. Was there any change at all when you switched to a wired connection?
 3. Were you able to connect to Xbox Live before trying to Open your NAT?
 4. What steps exactly did you take to Open your NAT?
 5. Have you always had issues since getting your Gateway?

1.Did a wired connection yield better results for you?

Wired connection seems to allow some connection, but not XBox Live log on.

2.Was there any change at all when you switched to a wired connection?

Same as Number 1.

3.Were you able to connect to Xbox Live before trying to Open your NAT?

Was not able to connect at all until I was able to change the NAT setting.

4.What steps exactly did you take to Open your NAT?

Went through the Gateway and set up the Xbox as an allowed machine to access the internet.  Added(right terminology?) Port 3074

5.Have you always had issues since getting your Gateway?

Ever since the upgrade to Uverse from the old DSL modem, I've had issues.

Additionally, I did not change any settings to the UDP.
The XBox is directly conencted to the Gateway through a wired connection.  No longer on the wireless.
Can you tell me the make and model of this gateway?

You mentioned having two device, one being the Motorola NVG589 and the other a D-Link wireless router. Do you have both of these devices connected to your network?

What is the model number of your D-Link router?

Do not have the D Link router model on me now.  For some reason my gateway was restarted, so now I can log onto XBox Live yet my NAT is now set back to Moderate. :)   Gotta love modern technology!
