Using a wireless controller with a PC

Hi, I was wondering if there's a way I can use my Xbox 360 wireless controller on my PC. I have a charging cord that plugs into the top of the Controller and the other end is USB. Would that work or do I need another cord?

Nope, using the Plug and Play charging cord wont work, it only carries power through it, no data.  You can use a wired controller or a Microsoft Xbox 360™ Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows®:
