This seems like a stupid question, but I wanted to make sure it was okay to use a HDD that has been previously used in another console. Or alternately, if it was okay (ToU-wise) to use a third-party hard drive.
Yes you can use a genuine Microsoft hard drive that has been used on another console. You're not allowed to take apart an old style one to use in a Slim however.
Using a third party hard drive (ones looking like they are genuine) is not recommended as they are often poorly put together and you risk data loss by usiing them.
