USB Drive - how to backup/restore

Hi all,

I have a 16Gb Lexar 'JD Firefly' USB drive that I have been using for quite a while on my console. Today, Unfortunately the drive has suddenly stopped working. On the Xbox, it shows as a raw (unformatted) device, and when I try to access it, I get the following message:

Can't copy data to the device. Make sure it's not write-protected. [OK]

Now here's the weird part. When I mount it on my Windows system, I can see the Xbox360 folder and the Data files in it. I have taken a backup by copying that folder to my system in case it's useable.

Does anyone know what the best/approved method for restoring that to another USB stick is? Can I just copy the Xbox360 folder over, or is a disk clone required?

Hoping I haven't lost all my saves.

Thanks
Mike

There is no Microsoft approved method to do what you need. There is third party software that can do it but that is something we are not allowed to talk about here I'm afraid, as Microsoft consider it system tampering.

OK, thanks. I'll see if maybe a ghost or something similar will do the trick. Just didn't want to do anything to further jeopardize the data.
