Updating Xbox with USB Flash Drive

I have a 2GB USB Flash Drive and when I configure it to work with the Xbox, the Xbox puts 1.85GB into it. The problem is that when I want to update, I have no space left. I tried deleting the files and keeping the update file on it, but the update didn't pop up when I restarted the Xbox. Is there anyway to update the Xbox with ONLY the update files on a USB Flash Drive? Thanks

If you want to update your 360 using a USB drive with the system update downloaded from xbox.com then you do not need to configure it for USB storage on the console.

-

Simply format the USB stick as FAT32 on your PC and place the System Update folder on to it. Then put it in your 360.

-

It should be detected as soon as you put the drive in the console but if not, power off and on again with the USB in the 360.

When you configure the USB flash drive, choose the Customize option. Move the slider back one notch from maximum. The system update is about 100MB. The slider should move in 256MB increments (rounds up to 0.3GB).

I configured mine over 6 times. It always takes 1.85GB. What I'm trying to do is update my system with nothing, but the update files. When I take my Flash Drive out, I have to configure it again, then there goes the loss of space.

It is possible , only via a bigger flashdrive ( 10 - 16 GB should do ) .

Also , most flashdrives when configured by the Xbox 360 , will not EXACTLY use 2GB's , but somewhere similarly close.
