Update/Parental Approval Required Problem

I'm 20, almost 21, my account knows this. I do not know what fake account I used years ago that I claimed was my parents, but it's not my parents and I don't know the information to log in to that account to accept the updated terms of service.

Short of creating a new XBox Live account (of which I would be extremely annoyed, and unsatisfied with my experience with Microsoft and its services) I am unsure how to remedy the situation.

I cannot go to my settings page because I cannot accept the terms of use to remove this fake parental account.  Please advise as to what I should do.

I am experiencing exactly the same problem. After talking on the phone to Xbox support they suggested the only way to sort this out is to create a new Gamertag which I definately don't want to do. I don't understand why they can't just promote my account to an adult account.

This is a reply I posted in another thread with the same problem. My account has now been sorted and I can use Xbox Live properly now.

"You still have an option available to you.

If you find the e-mail you recieved for the last failed account recovery request on the parent account, there will be an 8-digit reference number at the bottom. You need to phone up support and get them to escalate this reset problem so it can be reset by xbox staff. You just need that reference code, your console ID and some other info for your account (e.g. secret question etc.) attatched to the gamercard and they might be able to reset the parental password it for you. It does take some time, maybe upto a week depending, but it's another option.

I'm expecting a call back soon for mine.

Hope this helps."

Hey xTCx Gamer! We'd be happy to help you out if you could create your own thread in this forum. That way we can help you out individually! In that new thread make sure to include a detailed description of your issue and all the steps you've already tried. Thanks in advance. :)
