Update error. Console won't start.

On my Xbox 360 I was doing the update and it failed. The console restarted and now it gives me this "System update stopped"

And the error code "22FB-335A-B800-0F00-C000-0059"

And the console won't power up so I can't clear the cache or anything like that.

I've already tried opening the DVD drive unplugging the power closing it halfway and then turning it on again.

And I've also tried connecting to Xbox live. Putting the update on a CD and a USB Drive.

And the console can't be sent in to Microsoft Because the front warranty sticker broke.

Hey there Elmer. I'm a little confused, you say the console won't power up, but then how did you try connecting to LIVE or use a USB device? Can you please clarify your post a little for me, thanks!

It powers on but the only thing that comes up is for the update. And  I meant plugging it into the internet sorry. And with the USB I copied the update onto it and then plugged it in and tried to power the Xbox up

Sorry for the confusion.

Ah I see. Do you get this same error message every time or do you see different codes? What happens when you try inserting the USB device with the update? Are you certain you placed the files on the USB device properly? You can find those steps here (support.xbox.com/.../system-update-help). Let me know, thanks!

When there's no disc in and no USB I get the above error code except the last digits are 0013. And when I put a game in I get 0015. And the update files are correctly put on the USB. I have done updates that way before and know how.

Can you walk me through exactly what happens when you plug in a USB device with the update and try to update the console? What do you see? What happens to cause it to not work?

The Update is on the USB. Formatted to FAT32. I plug it in while the console is off. when I turn the console on It says

"System update"

"Applying update"

And the bar won't move and then it displays

"System Update stopped"

"Can't read Update from disc"

"22FB-335A-B800-0F00-C000-0013"

And then it will just stay on that screen and won't continue to the dashboard.

The only thing plugged in is the USB device. Theres no CD/DVD in the drive and there's no Xbox memory Cards or hard drives plugged in

Alright, thank you for that. I have also found that a direct modem connection may help here. You won't need the USB for this, but you should connect your console directly to the modem with an ethernet cable. Then start it up normally and attempt to update that way. Let me know if you get the same or a different error code, thanks!

My symptoms are identical to ElmerFudd848 but connecting directly to the modem doesn't help.

Still identical error code (22FB-335A-B800-0F00-C000-0013).

Trying to update via USB (with or without harddrive) results in the same code being displayed. I'm thinking there's a hardware error with my xbox (as it is used and I'm not certain what the previous owner did to it).

Any recommendations or tips would be helpful (ie. worth the trouble to fix it or should I just trash it?).
