Unwanted Messages

I am just curious to know when you get a unwanted,abusive or vulgar message how long you should keep it on your xbox before they look at it from a complaint you have filed?  Or if they check it at all?  I really wish they would give us an option to forward it to like xbox abuse email address straight from our xbox.

You do not need to "keep it". Simply File a Complaint/ Block Communications and move on. The Message (or Messages) are "forwarded" when you File a Complaint. That is what the Complaint System does, it "forwards" directly from your Xbox LIVE Profile to the Xbox LIVE Policy Enforcement Team.
