Unable to remove a follower.

I am unable to remove a follower.

I have tried blocking them, friending them and removing them, and blocking them again. I have attempted to do this on Smart Glass, Xbox.com, and on my console. I even went as far as asking the person to stop following me, to which they stated they already had. And upon checking their friend list, they indeed had. This person remains on my followers list with no way of removing them.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am not following them.

They are not following me.

Yet they still remain as a follower.

I can't make this any clearer.

Thanks for the reply iNb4 Ownage.

Unfortunately it does not help with this issue.

1. I never followed the gamertag in question.

2. I have blocked them

3. They are not harassing me.

They followed me, and I blocked them. Yet they remain as a follower.

The note in step 3 is my problem. The gamertag has not been removed.

1.To return to the Home screen, press the Xbox button on your controller, or say “Xbox, go home.”

2.Go to the Friends hub on the right and select the Friends tile.

3.Select Friends or Recent players, and then select the gamertag that you want to block.

Note If you block a gamertag in your Friends list, that gamertag is removed from the list.

4.Select Report or block, and then select Block from the list.

Just to elaborate on this situation. This person is not following me and they have been blocked.

I messaged the person in question, and then blocked them.

Yet, for some reason this person remains on my followers list.

I can only assume that this is an bug/glitch in the user interface. I have unfortunately had to block others before, and this did not occur, they, in fact, were removed immediately. Yet somehow this person has remained on my followers list.

Hello,

Thanks for the support message.

You can not remove someone from following you but you can unfollow them, block them, and if they are harassing you, please go to http://xbox.com/abuse for more info on that matter.

Cheers!

This is happening now to me too

Everytime in the past some unwanted stranger has started following me, I have been able to remove them from that list by blocking them. But this week there is one person who even when I block still remains on the followers list.

Now I can see from the ambassador posting here that they believe you cannot remove a follower by blocking, but I am afraid that has not been the case since I have successfully removed dozens of pointless unwelcome people from following by just blocking them. It seems that the current issue may well be a glitch as I cannot delete the recent activity message that keeps reappearing about this person either.

I have no idea why M$ persist with this follower thing as its just yet another thing I have to keep in check but if some actual moderator could look into this glitch I would be very grateful

The block only applies to communications such as messaging. The blocked player will not be able to send you messages, unless you first send a message to that player. However, a blocked player can still join games with you.

So remember, if you message that player, they will no longer be blocked.
