Unable to connect to Xbox live after I redeemed 12 month code

Hi there,

Last week I renewed my Xbox live-Gold membership for 12 months. I got a pre-paid card and just redeemed my code. As far as I can see everything went perfect, code got accepted -> now showing 'Gold-member' on my profile. As I am a Call Of Duty player I tried to run COD MW3 a couple of times to play online egain (the reason i renewed) but it allways get's stuck on the 'connecting to Xbox Live' part. This is really weird because I was a Gold member untill last month and it worked perfect.

1 time I got trough the 'connecting to Xbox live' pop-up but then it got stuck on the 'getting online profile' pop-up. It's not that my xbox crashes, but after 1 minit trying to connect it just tells me 'unable to connect to Xbox-Live'. Alltough I am able to connect to my friends/marketplace/online content/...

I really don't know what's the problem ? Anyone can help me out ?

Could you try recover/download your profile as follows:

Press X to sign out of your profile.

  1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
  2. Select Download Profile.
  3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
  4. Enter your Microsoft account password.

Post back and let us know if it works.
