Two profiles at Xbox LIVE?!

After finally beeing able to connect my daughters Xbox to the network, I signed in to Xbox LIVE from the device. I thought since I was using the same mail-account as I have registred with here, I should end up to this profile I'm using here and now. But I was wrong, so now I have two profiles here; R0zeman and Roz3man using same mail account. What to do?

Hey there R0zeman!

It should not be possible to have two different gamer profiles attached to the same Microsoft account. Did you do this right? If you've created your profile online here on xbox.com, try download your profile onto your console as follows:

Press X to sign out of your profile.

  1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
  2. Select Download Profile.
  3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
  4. Enter your Microsoft account password.
  5. Select the storage device for your profile (for example, Hard Drive).

Post back and let us know how it goes.

Hi,

I suggest you change one account to another e-mail adress.

2 XBL Accounts one one e-mail adress osn't quite usefull.

Here's how you can change your e-mail-adress.

There's supposed to be a unique Microsoft Account addresse for every unique Gamertag.

On your Xbox, sign in w/ Gamertag #1, then do Settings | Account | go 2 clicks right to Account Security | choose Change Microsoft Account | fib, and tell it you DO have a new addresse ready, then it will show you the email addresse used to create the Microsoft Account. Please carefully make sure of what it is and write it down.

Then, sign out, sign in with the other Gamertag, and  repeat this process with the other Gamertag. There will probably be two almost identical email addresses.

Ok, I'll try this later, @work for the moment. Lets say I create a new MS-account to "Roz3man", the profile I don't gonna use, can I delete it from the Xbox afterwards? How? Of obvious reason I just want one profile on Xbox, the one I'm using.

I found the the answer by searching: http://support.xbox.com/sv-SE/xbox-360/settings-and-initial-setup/profile-move-delete. I suppose this will do the trick for me so I can delete/remove the profile I'm not gonna use. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi,

If you want to get rid of your Xbox Live Profile, that is the right article for you.

Please Note: That Account will only be removed from your Console and NOT from the Servers.

Last year they cleaned up all inactieve gamertags, so that e-mail adress that's associated with your Account that you removed will stay, so you CANNOT use it for another Xbox Live Account.
