TRYING TO REDEEM CODE

EVERY TIME I TRY TO REDEEM A CODE I GET A MESSAGE SAYING THAT THE CODE IS INVALID. WHAT DO I DO TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE BOTH A 7 DAY PASS AND A 12 MONTH PASS

Hello, double check the code to ensure that you didn't just make a spelling error.  If that doesn't work, try redeeming it on Xbox.com.  If you have already tried to redeem the codes on your console as well as Xbox.com, please contact Xbox Official Support by clicking the link below. :)

I recently (yesterday) bought the Xbox One (Gears Ultimate Edition) and it came with a digital download code. I have tried entering it multiple times on the xbox and through my microsoft account, but keep getting this message:

Code not found. Try re-entering it. If that doesn't work, contact the merchant.

I contacted Microsoft Help Desk and they alerted me that my code won't take affect until Dec 7th. I was instructed to contact Epic Games to find a solution, but the links direct me to this forum. I feel like I'm going in circles. Please help, I have a new toy that is of no use to me right now.

Very tempted to return it for a PS4.
