My dad's AMEX card is showing a status of 'good' on the Microsoft Billing and Account Management page, but when I try to buy an Xbox LIVE Gold I subscription on my pc from xbox.com or from my Xbox console (Xbox LIVE Marketplace) I get, "Sorry, there's an issue with your account. To fix the problem, visit https://account.live.com or choose a different payment method." BUT... there is no help available on account.live.com. I Google'd and found tons of people who get the same runaround. What the deal??? Do you want to sell Xbox LIVE Gold subscriptions or what???
