Trouble with xbox live connection... Disconnecting every 10-20 minuites

Ok as i have read over various places and other''s seem to be having the same issue But i thought id post this anyway

I am having trouble playing on xbox live because every 10-20 minutes despite what i may be doing. xbox live drops out and requires a connection test to reconnect...

Im using an xbox 360 elite console with a 250gb hdd

From the start here post. here are the details below

What Country/State/Province do you live in? Australia
Modem brand & model number: (as i dont know the diffrence between a modem and a router) Netcomm, NB6Plus4W ADSL+2 Modem Router
Router brand & model number: : (as i dont know the diffrence between a modem and a router) Netcomm, NB6Plus4W ADSL+2 Modem Router
If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter? Not wireless
Things you have tried:
Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown: Unknown
Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT? No error at all
Any Error Codes you encounter:  None
Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Montemedia
After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" press “Y” for "More Info”. In the pop-up that appears, what are the following values, if shown? (If a value below does not appear for you, just leave it blank.)
W:0000-000B
X:0000-FOO1
Y:20A8 - 4840
Z: 0000-0000
ID:FFFF-FFFF

Q:8015 -100C
T:Wired

After doing a speed test on www.speedtest.net i get the following results.

Ping: 30ms

Download Speed: Mbps

Upload speed 0.70 Mbps

If you need any other information please let me know ASAP as i would like to get this issue resolved for me as soon as i can. I dont want to be spending my entire xbox live time trying to play games when constatly Disconnecting ;)

Im having the same problem..play 10 to 20 mins then get disconnected...

Its xbox not your connection. I've had this problem ever since update.

Hey Nix, I noticed that you didn't list anything under things you have tried.' What have you tried to resolve the issue so far? Let us know! Have you tried resetting your network hardware? You can reset your modem and router by unplugging power to both for about 15 seconds. When restoring power, plug the modem in first, and then wait for all of the lights on the modem to come up. When those are all active, plug in the router. Once those lights are flashing normally, go ahead and run a LIVE connection test on the console.

Yep i have tried resetting my router many times. This issue has also only occurded since the latest xbox live update

After doing so the xbox live test runs just fine. then sure enough 10-20 minutes in i disconnect. I hear rumors like the one posted above about it being xbox? Also i have more than one xbox connected to our internet. but i know it isnt my internet because i can use other things just fine with mulitiple people

Hey there Nix! You mentioned having multiple console in your home. Are they all connected to the same, wired network? Do you have any issues if you use your profile on another of these consoles? If these other consoles are connected to a different network, please let us know the differences between the two set ups. Thanks!

The consoles are on the same network. One is my brother''s and the other mine. xbox live appears to work with just one xbox on the network and the other disconnecting. This shouldnt happen because our old internet was about 10 times slower than our one now. And we could get online with both xbox''s with no issue

Our internet is also a Web Only plan. Could that have some effect on it?

Hey Nix, I'm not sure about the plan--do you know if that has an impact on your connection speed? You may want to run a connection speed test to be sure. However, I suspect the issue here is a NAT issue, as that will likely crop up with multiple consoles on the same network device. The easiest solution would be enabling UPnP on your router, if your router supports it. Would you be able to check and try, and then let us know how it goes? :-)

What effect will enableing UPnP have on my router? I dont want to go around editing settings that i dont know what they do

UPnP allows devices to communicate better with routers, and is especially helpful when there are multiple consoles on one router. It's definitely a great thing to try! It should not affect other devices on the network. :)
