Trouble Recovering GT

Recently, my Xbox 360 Elite had some hardware malfunctions where it would freeze on or right after the start-up. When this began, I noticed that I had trouble logging into my GT as well. It displayed a message saying "Your Xbox LIVE membership information isn’t valid. Please use a profile that contains a valid membership or recover your profile from Xbox LIVE." I merely thought this was a side effect of the system's malfunctions.

After purchasing a new Xbox 360 S, I transferred the profile to the hard drive using a flash drive, and received the same error message when attempting to sign in. I have looked around the forums on several sites and they suggest recovering the GT from Xbox Live. However, I don't know my Windows Live ID. When I made this profile over 3 years ago, I don't recall even having to attach an email to the account.

Any advice? Or am I pretty much screwed? Thanks in advance.
