trouble playing live on the xbox

i cannot get online on the xbox to my gamertag but am able to access it on the internet can anyone help me with this issue gold membership has been purchased but cannot do anything

Have you tried re-downloading your gamertag? Also, have you verified on the console that you have Gold Membership? To do this, go to Dashboard, then over to the far right to Settings > Account and then over to the right one time. This section will be labeled Memberships and will state if it's Free or Gold.

I am unaware as to if you're having an issue downloading your Gamertag (Recovering profile) and or if you are just having an issue with connecting to Xbox LIVE alone. First of all, Click Here if you are wondering how to recover your Gamertag. Now, if your connection is struggling with its performance, have a look here to see how you can troubleshoot this by clicking This Link.

 

However, it could be your NAT Type. NAT is an acronym known as Network Access Transition, and has 3 settings "Open" > "Moderate" > "Strict" We don't want it set to Strict. This may cause issues with Xbox LIVE Connectivity, communication with others on the console etc! To learn more on how to test your NAT Type and then troubleshoot it, Click Here!
