Trouble installing external harddrive

Hi everyone,

I'm having issues getting my new external harddrive installed to my one

its a My Passport Ultra from WD thats run 2tb on usb 2.0 usb 3.0 so it does meet requirements for games but every time i go to use it for game storage it doesnt allow me to format it at all.

Any help? i saw alot of people used this and run flawlessly i just cant get an option for formatting no matter what i try.

try reformatting the harddrive on the PC and then plug it in the xbox one and see if it gives you the option to format it for "My Games & Apps".

Hi DragonElf42,

Not to add too many steps for you to try at once, But are you using the original cable that came with the My Passport Ultra? If you have another USB 3.0 device, try using the cable from that.  I actually have one of these myself and use it with no issues at all. Can you please post the model number of the hard drive for us? Also, it shouldn't matter, but try a different USB port on the Xbox after you format the drive in your Windows machine.

Ok, what is the file system of the harddrive when you plug it in the computer?.

you can see this by going to My computer, windows 8/8.1 This PC and right click on the harddrive and go to Properties. and file system will be below type.
