Transferring memory

Is it possible, when you use a flash stick can I transfer the files onto my pc as a back up?

it is only possible with the use of third party software and strangely enough Microsoft don't like you doing it.

Save files and XBLA/DLC can be happily copied onto usb sticks (16gb max)

If you then chose to move them to your pc (purely as backup) you could, but while on the pc they'd be useless

so if i move and have to leave my xbox behind but want to use my mass effect 1 and 2 data when 3 comes out, i could copy it to usb and then put it on whatever xbox i end up on playing mass 3?

Yeah, pretty much.

You can copy your most of your Mass Effect saves but there is a hidden save, the one used to Select Existing ID and import into Mass Effect 2. This can't be moved onto another device, so make sure you have a save for your characters from near the end of the game.
