Transferring downloaded content.

I have recently purchased a new xbox having had the previous one for over five years.  However all my downloaded content and various saved games are on the hard drive of my old console so is there any way for me to transfer the downloaded content onto my new console from my old one.  And possibly transfer my saved games aswell.

In order to transfer all your saves and downloads, you can either users a transfer kit (see here: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/accessories/set-up-transfer-cable) or you can just use a USB (see here: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/accessories/usb-flash-drive)  if you have the old console still.

After doing that you should use the liscense transfer tools so all your downloads liscense are on your new console. see here: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live/marketplace-and-purchasing/download-content

Hope this helps!

The link above gives in detail what you need to transfer data from one hard drive to another.

There are a couple of things you should know,

Firstly,  please ensure that if you get a data transfer cable it is the Microsoft certified cable and not some cheap third party offering otherwise not only can you lose all your data but also you have a very good chance of ending up with a useless hard drive.

Secondly, connect the cable to the console first, power on the console and then attach the hard drive to the cable, otherwise the data transfer window may not open as expected.

You can also use a USB memory stick to transfer your data

Another option for your saved games would to be to use the cloud feature to store your game saves. They would then be available on your new console.

Another option for getting your DLC would be to access your download history.  Either from the console by going to Settings the Account or from the link below on the computer.
