I'm all grown up but still have a child account.

Once you have reached the age of maturity (different in some regions, usually it is 17) you can promote your child account to a regular adult account. The process is really simple and is done on the console. Just follow these steps:

1.Sign in to Xbox LIVE by using the account that you want to change.

2.Go to My Xbox, and then select your profile.

3.Select Manage Account.

4.Select Promote Child Account

@Xadium the OP needs to promote his account from what the issue was.

@OP follow Stay Puft 780's advice to promote your account.  If the settings are not set where the account's original user is 18 you will not be able to promote the account.

Yes my apologies.  I read the original post and instantly I assumed he meant promoting his account to adult. If that did not cover your problem post again with a little more info and I'm sure one of these guys or gals can help you out.

if you set up your sons account on your email address then you will need to make another from you internet provider then use that to make your own xbox live account then upgrade to gold. why you cant play on your sons account is the date of birth you put in for your son he will be able to play when he reaches the age on the game.you can only have 1 email address per account.

My son is 14 and plays Battlefield 3 online (not the campaign,I play both lol ) I have it custom on his account with permissions to play a M rated game since I watch him play all of the time. Just change what the child is allowed to play to M rated, but it needs the adults info before it can be set. Hope that helps. PM me if you need more help. I am a ambassador and am glad to help out.

i have everything on the parent account set to allow my account including able to play rated m games but im still unable to play battlefield 3. the account is 15 because i was stupid enough to put my real age in. apparently im getting punished for being honest.. i can play black ops and mw2 just fine but battlefield i have to pay to play and have to be old enough... stupid waste of money far as i know now
