The microsoft account associated with this profile is invalid

Whenever I try to sign in with my profile "Ribstack" I get the message. "Your parents microsoft account isn't valid. Your parent needs to choose a different account to manage your xbox profile". I don't understand why I am receiving this message, my microsoft account lets me log into the xbox website, but when I use it to sign in on the xbox it tells me that the parent and child account cannot use the same account. This is curious as I am unsure why my "parent account" has decided to stop working. I know which account is the one that is my parent account as this email receives messages when I have bought microsoft points, for example. When I follow the onscreen instructions it lets me get to the final stage but then tells me that xbox live signup is currently unavailable. I have tried even using a brand new account that I made up, it is properly registered and accepted by microsft. However as I do the process of changing the parent account and I get to a certain point in the process, I am given the option to press continue, when i press the A button nothing happens, it makes the sound as though I pressed it. The console has not crashed as I can still use the B button to go back and the dashboard button still works. I have no idea why this is happening to me and I have no idea how to fix the issue. I have contacted numerous people on the support chat function. I have been told that I am waiting to be contacted by the advocacy team but am still waiting for a response. Any guidance, solutions or even telling me that I am not the only one would be much appreciated.

im having the same problem and every where I look I dont get any answers i have tried a couple of things but nothing seems to work and this is a VERY common problem If you google it there is pages of people asking how to fix it, if you find out how to fix this please message me

YES!!! I have the answer! you will need to Contact Customer Support Via their Phone Support. Advise the agent of the issue. If they don't escalate the issue request they do so or speak to their supervisor as the ONLY known way to fix this when troubleshooting doesn't work is to escalate the issue to be fixed. this is coming straight from a customer support Supervisor so don't let any agent tell you different.
