test failed: there is a problem with your connection

so recently i got this problem where i do have 2 bars connection with my router, but when i do the xbl-connection test, it continiously fails and gives me the message"there's a problem with your connection. select more info for a description of the problem and how you can fix it.'',

note: ive tried to unplug my router for 30 seconds, plug it in, wait another 30 seconds and tried to reconnect, still the same problem,

I'd start by clearing the system cache (it's just updates plus other temporary files, nothing that's at all important to anyone) by:

1) Tap the silver Xbox Guide button on the controller, go right 2 clicks to Settings, pick System Settings.

2) Select Storage (or Memory).

3) Move over any hard drive or memory unit (not the Cloud) & press (Y) on your controller & pick Clear System Cache.

4) When asked to confirm storage device maintenance, choose Yes.

the strange thing is that, when I choose my router, it displays 2 of 4 bars connection rate, so there is a connection, but when i do the test, it fails at connecting to the router

@taidara: it fails at the first stage, but it doest show an error, it just says that there is a problem with my connection

Have you entered the correct password for your wireless network? An incorrect password might make it look like your Xbox is connected to your wireless netowork but it will not receive an IP address.

To obtain your console's IP settings

  1. On your console, press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
  2. Select Network Settings.
  3. Select the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.
  4. Select Configure Network.
  5. On the Basic Settings tab you'll find your Xbox network configuration.

Your console is not getting a valid IP address. Try the connection wizard on how to connect to Xbox LIVE http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live/connecting/cant-connect-to-xbox-live-wizard
