System update unavailable

So I turned on my Xbox yesterday and there was a system update. I let it download and do its thing. When the last loading bar filled up it said, "Update Failed A system update is required to sign in to Xbox Live, but the update is currently unavailable. If the problem persists, visit www.xbox.com/support." I tried clearing system cache just for the heck of it but no luck. I have connection to the Internet, it even let me update Minecraft and Skate. But it will not connect to Xbox Live and will not attempt to update the system. Please help.

None of the stuff in that link was really relevent. I am able to download the update directly on xbox and on to a usb then on to the xbox. I have connected to xbox live before using the same internet and equipment. The only thing that is stopping me seems to be the xbox not recognizing the update or something. The download completes, the xbox restarts, then the update failed message pops up. Ive downloaded it three times. I appreciate your effort though.

Hello there!

Try clearing your system cache, 3 times exactly! And then re-start your console. If that doesn't work have a look at Mister Gwyther's solution page! And see if that helps resolve your issue.

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,

How I fixed it:

I had the same problem for the last 2 weeks, tried clearing the cache and all the other things. Even burning the update on a cd/usb etc but it said it was already up to date!.  Fixed it by resetting the network settings. Didn't think of this at first because I had the same problem when connected with wired and wireless and didn't see how it could solve it but it did with wired, haven't tried wireless yet. Go to System/ network/ wired network/configure network/Additional settings/restore to factory default.

Try going to the storage section of the dashboard and then press LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X

It will then ask you if you want to delete the system update. Select Yes and it will delete then redownload the system update.
