Have you tried clearing your cache.

Sign in on your console and on the 'Home' hub of the dashboard and scroll to the far right, then select the 'Settings' hub.

Then select the 'System' tile in the upper left.

From here scroll down x2 and select 'memory.'

Highlight the HDD and press 'Y', then select 'clear system cache.'

(A message will pop up saying 'This will perform maintainance on your xbox 360 storage device, do you want to continue?'

Select 'Yes.'

Now that you've cleared the cache, pop a game in your console and install the update when prompted. You will need to

perform this for every title you play after clearing, but it should only be the once per title now (unless future

updates are released)

If this doesnt works,go again to your memory but dont press Y.

Press LB - RB - X - LB - RB - X

With this combination you should delete destroyed updates,or updates with issues.

After deleting via this way you should be asked again for the update.

Have you had any issues with xbox live before you took the update?

When you have got deletet your cache and update, please report further whats going on.

If you have a Wireless Head set turn off the hole headset system and try again. I had the exact same problem and read another blog and it worked today Nov 10 2012

Sorry to hear that, JaMesOweNs7. Are you still receiving the exact same message after using a modem connection? In addition, have you tried the steps in this support article titled "Update your Xbox 360 console software"? Let us know!
