System update from February still doesn't work.

I've been trying to download this update for a month now and it still says:

Can't download the update. To test your connection, open System Settings and select Network Settings, Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

If the problem persists, go to

www.xbox.com/support.

Status Code:

3968-0000-0080-0300-8007-2741


It's been bugging me a lot, and I don't have a USB or blank CD to download the update on, then install through the system itself.

I've heard it would be complete within 18 days on posts posted on Feb. 18th, and it's been 25 days.

I've done all the steps before using the USB on fixing the problem. I don't want to buy anything, no matter how cheap, for a free update.

If you need more information just ask.

Errors with 8007 usually hint at a network problem. Usually, it happens, if the Internet connection is slow or doesn't deliver something quickly enough. Try if you can maximize the available bandwith by connecting the Xbox with a LAN cable instead of Wireless, and to prevent PCs and other devices from doing downloads or video streaming at the same time.

Then I recommend you ask a friend if he is willing to borrow you an USB drive or recordable CD. Your PC is often more tolerant if a download isn't fast enough.

Unpack the downloaded update to your friends USB drive or burn it to the CD and update it that way. It's much more reliable that way. Then simply return the USB drive to your friend.
