System Error E82 on my Xbox 360 Slim, no red ring when HDMI not connected

I had been using my xbox to play GTA V and now I got Battlefield today came home and have red ring with error message E82, no red ring when HDMI isn't connected, also the xbox is 2 years old so I have no warranty and I don't think its worth sending in as the new consoles come out very soon. Any suggestions to fix it?

Its the newer xbox 360 so its one solid ring all the way around and there is an error message on my tv. I tried removing the hard drive and that was unsuccessful.

Hi, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the console may need to be sent in for repair. If you'd rather not do this due to the imminent release of the Xbox One then you only have a little over a week to go, assuming you have a pre order.

Should you decide to get the console repaired then please check out the following link, it explains the whole repair process in detail.

Did you try removing all the cables from the console including the power cable, press the power button several times, reconnect all the cables and try the console again?  Maybe even try another HDMI cable. Long shots those but worth a try.
