Switching microsoft accounts

I have read the examples on how to change gamertag A to account B, but i first need to transfer gamertag B to account C. The only problem is that account C has a gamertag on it too, so i cant transfer. Can i delete profiles on accounts, or do i have to do something different to be able to transfer?

What exactly are you trying to transfer? The windows live ID? That is the only thing that can be moved around on accounts. Any DLC or game saves can't be transferred.

I just want to clarify here.  Are you asking about moving the name of a gamertag from one account to another account?  Your description wasn't entirely clear.

Im trying to move one gamertag to another microsoft account on the same xbox, but you cant move the gamertag to the other account if the other account already has a profile, so i want to know if you can delete profiles on accounts or not,

There is no way to delete a profile.  You can, however, move that profile to a different Windows Live ID (account).  Once you have done that, the old Windows Live ID will be available to use on a different gamertag

  • Have another Window Live ID ready
  • On your console ,sign into the gamertag you want to take the Windows Live ID from
  • On the dashboard go across to "Settings"
  • Select "Profile"
  • Select "Account Security"
  • Select "Change Microsoft Account", then "Yes"
  • Enter the password of that Windows Live ID, and select "Sign In"
  • Enter the new email address and password you want to use.

Note that for security reasons a Windows Live ID must be a minimum of 30 days old before it can be used on a gamertag.

This 30 day delay is frustrating and inefficient. Not impressed.

Turrrbo, that 30 day 'speed bump' was designed to make life difficult for account thieves, and was imposed by the Microsoft Accounts division. If you want to communicate with the folks whose idea that was, their web forum is at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/liveid
