Suspended due to payment option.

So, I put my credit card on my xbox to buy microsoft points and soon realized that it was automatically buying me xbox live for 9.99 a month. To stop this, I cancled my credit card and now it says I have been suspended due to a payment option. I would like how to fix this to turn back from paying for live from a credit card to getting live with prepaid cards. And when I run out of live, it reverts back to silver, not suspend my account.

Even though you cancelled your card, autorenewal was still turned on. Since they could no longer bill that card, you have accrued a balance you will have to pay off before you can add gold again. So you will need to add a new card to pay off the balance and then you can turn off autorenewal and use a prepaid card.

You will need a Xbox Support telephone agent to

a) accept payment for your past due balance

b) cancel the GOLD subscription

c) remove all cards on the account

then put your prepaid code ('PPC') on the account to restart your subscription - then everything you had before will return, as if you never left.

Use the Click2Call system to get to the head of the queue. Right now, the hold time is less than a minute per the web page.

1) Go to http://support.xbox.com

2) At upper right click on SIGN IN to sign in w/ your Windows Live ID & pswd

3) Go to the dark grey bar at bottom. Find CONTACT US at left and click on it

4) On the Contact Us page, set Prduct to Billing and Subscriptions, set Category to Account Management and Issue Type to Remove Credit Card

5) Scroll down to REQUEST A CALL FROM SUPPORT and click on REQUEST A CALL

6) You will be prompted for your password again

7) On the Request A Call screen, check (and, if needed, update) your phone number in Step 1, and put your description in the Step 2 'Tell us more about your issue' box then click the green SUBMIT button at lower left.
