Surface Pro 2 Smart Glass not working with Battlefield 4

Every time I try to use the companion app in Smart Glass on my Surface Pro 2 for Battlefield 4 it says my browser is insufficient.  It provides three browser buttons to push and download a "newer" browser.  I have win 8.1 running with updates, IE 11 and also downloaded Chrome for good measure. I reinstalled 8.1 because that is the page it eventually sends me to because IE 11 requires the latest OS, which I have.  So I find it fundamentally upsetting that my brand new Surface Pro 2 does not work with my new Xbox One

It seems a lot of people have been getting this problem lately. I tried it today on my Windows 8 PC and it tells me the same thing. Hopefully a patch will come soon.
