Stereo headset adapter and apple earbud problem

Yeah I have an Xbox one stereo headset adapter and some apple EarPods and the audio of the stereo sounds great but according to my friends the microphone appears not to work or sends straight static over the adapter... But the mic on the EarPods work fine on other things like my laptop, iPad, and cell phone so I know that the mic works.

so is my adapter busted or are the EarPods not compatible  or what?

has anyone else have this problem? if so did you fix it and how?

Tried mine. Everyone else only hears a loud screech from me using the EarPods, but they work fine with plenty of other products. They are supposed to be compatible, but they aren't. Personally, I think the headset adapter is faulty.

It should be easy to updata the firmware for the buttens on the EarPods.... P.S. I still think it is the buttons on the EarPods (for like the volume buttons) based on the fack that that when I press one the mic works for a very small moment...
