Currently running a Xbox 360 Elite Bundle (120GB) has showed this error since Wednesday night, and have gone through all of the troubleshooting errors. Also, there was a new update that happened the same time as my live disconnecting. Help? :3

I've been having the same problem for a week or two now, and no one has been able to find a solution to the problem. I can get on live on my boyfriends xbox which is in the next room.

I'm using a wired connection so i don't understand why I'm having this problem. It worked fine, then suddenly cut out and now i can't play online

ignore that post. lol. thought it was in response to something else. but i get the same error, not sure why. the update worked on my bf's xbox just fine..

Hey guys, have you tried the official steps for that error code?

The update could not be downloaded from Xbox LIVE. Try the following:

  1. Try installing the update again.
  2. If you are having problems connecting or staying connected to Xbox LIVE, see Xbox LIVE connection problems.

Note You can also update your console software by copying the update to a USB flash drive or CD. See Troubleshoot console software update problems.

Yes, I've tried this, I've tried all the suggested solutions - restart the modem/router, try a direct connection to the modem, clear the cache and all the others but it still wont connect to XBL
