I keep getting this error when I try to download the update.  I have tried all fixes I have foud with the exeption of loading it onto an external drive and loading it to the XBox that way.  I don't have an external drive and before I go purchase one I want to be sure that this has a good chance of working. I can't use a disc to load it because my tray wont open unless I use the open button to turn on the console and then it won't read the disc that is in there.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Give this a shot...

With your Xbox turned on, open the disk try and remove ANY disk. Now, on the back of your console, unplug the power cable completely then gently plug it back in. After you have preformed this step, gently push the disk trey about 1/2 way back into the console. Now turn on your Xbox using the POWER BUTTON, not the controller or eject button.

You're welcome :) Sorry to hear you're still having troubles though. It would seem this issue is a bit beyond my knowledge, so Bolts, I would probably suggest that you phone up customer support for your region. Just have your serial number ready. The number for the US is 1-800-469-9269

Your console had a problem during the update process. Carefully follow these steps:

1.Remove any disc from the console.

2.Leave the disc tray open.

3.With the disc tray open, remove the power cord from the back of the console.

4.Plug the power cord back into the console. Do not turn the console on yet.

5.Gently push the disc tray about half-way back into the console.

6.Push the power button on the console.

Important Do not use the controller button or the disc tray eject button to turn on the console for this step.

The update should now continue. If the above steps do not work, the console might need to be repaired. Please contact phone support at 800-4MY-XBOX.

I Cant Open My Disc Tray So Im Gonna Try Delteing Everything Except Profile And running Intitail And Then Try Opening Disc If Not Try Downloading Update.
