Split-screen Multiplayer internet speed question???

I currently use a 15mbps download and around a .9mbps upload connection.

My problems arise when I play split screen multiplayer on any game.  My connection is perfect at all times when I play solo but when I play with my fiance it seems like shots don't register half of the time and my time online turns into a big frustration.

What would a minimum connection be to have an enjoyable experience during split screen play?

My next available speed is a 20 dl and 2 upload.  Would this make a big difference?

Thanks in advance!

I have 30mbps download and 3mpbs upload

I would also consider configuring your router by forwarding ports if you havent already.

support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live

gives you the numbers of the ports to forward

portforward.com/.../routerindex.htm

find your router in this list and follow the guide

FYI:  Forwarding ports will not increase your connection speed.  Your NAT type does not cause latency issues.  The reason for the OP's connection problem must be due to something else.  Increasing your connection speed from your ISP is not guaranteed to fix your problem either.

Take a look at this guide, see it helps: http://support.xbox.com/xbox-live/troubleshoot/connection-issues/performance

As well as a speed test, could you also do a Ping Test, and post your results too.  Thanks.

Hello

YEs i think that the next available speed will make a big difference from the simple reason its upload rate is higher therfore lower ping and etc...

Hope it solved your problem :D

That's what I figured too CornerPureEagle.

Obsessive what do you think now that I've posted those results?

I feel like my connection is decent and that I'm bottlenecking my connection when I play split-screen so, to me, the only logical conclusion was to upgrade to a higher upload speed.  I am not, however, a network specialist by any means.  I know quite a bit but not as much as some of the folks on these forums!

Your connection speed seems fine to me and an upload of 1Mb is more than enough to play online on Xbox LIVE.  Upload is more important when you are chosen to host.  If you're not the host, you don't upload nearly as much data.  The Jitter on your connection may be a problem, I'm not sure, my Jitter is 3ms, yours is 11ms.  Could you do some more ping tests with different servers, see if you get the same result?
