Something I noticed...

I just got the update today and all seems fine with it here. No major issues at all. But, what I did notice was I don't hear the "bink" sound or any notification to let me know how many friends are online. Was that removed by some chance? And the second item I noticed is my wireless hand controller contects to the console after the white boot screen. Any notice that by chance? Or is it mine.. hmmm... Notifications are on and remained unchanged. I resych'ed the hand controller as well. Still shows the same. Test it out and let me know.

1. From the home menu go to Settings

2. Select "System" and press A to validate.

3. Go to Preferences > Notifications

4.  Check "Play Sound"

If what colllecionador suggested does not work, try this:

  • Select "Settings"
  • "System"
  • "Console Settings"
  • "Audio"
  • "Sound Effects"
  • "Enable Sound Effects"

collecionador and Zen thanks for the suggestions, but those settings are all fine though. Shikyo, I get the same, I don't see the notifications when my friends are playing the same game as me. Possible MS issue or something?  The update installed without any issues on my new Xbox Slim. I will see what happens after a few days. Maybe others will chime in.

I don't understand what you mean by your controller connecting after the white boot screen..

Swifteh, before the update I would turn the console on from the wireless controller. It always connected and was shown on position 1 right away. Now when I power it on from the controller, all 4 lights flash until the main dashboard appears then it will show position 1 on the controller.
