Someone enabled Family Security on my console.

I just bought a Xbox 360 with Kinect a few months back. I don't play it as often as my friends do. A few days ago I went to play it and I was prompted for a Family Security code? I have never enabled this service on my console. Why would Microsoft add a feature anyone can enable and lock everyone out of their console? I would love some help with this issue.

Hi there.

The feature to enable a sucurity code is there for parents and/or anyone who wishes to protect themselves or anyone else who may have access to their xbox 360. Parents use these codes to stop their children from gaining access to features on LIVE they believe to be inappropriate. Other general gamers may use the code feature to stop friends and/or family gaining access to their account if they use the same console.

If you feel the Passcode is in error, the primary account on the console can request that it be reset by contacting Phone Support. You can find the relevant sforums.xbox.com/.../24766.aspx
