Social Networking should be a choice!

Hi Im more disgruntled every day as it appears social networking is digging its evil tentacles into the things I enjoy.  Case in point Vevo app... You need a facebook account in order to enjoy full use on the xbox.  Another rumour flying is the Ps4 is using your facebook profile instead of a gamertag.... I think this is un just and I personally think facebook is the seventh gate of hell. (Facebook free almost three years)  Why is this more and more the norm though that you can't have one without the other....... If the 720 follows suit It will be a painful act smashing three xboxs, a windows phone, and anything else I deem xbox related that is in my viscinity...

Here is the question?  Am I alone in the anti s.networking world and thoughts?......

I wouldn't worry so much about it, to be honest. If you don't want to use facebook, don't use it, and problem solved.

I'm still a proud facebook/twitter virgin, they're pretty easy to avoid actually...:-)

you might be surprised how many people either don't have accounts, or signed up once and never use their accounts. Point being, you're not alone!

...but you ARE on Xbox LIVE and these forums. Thats social networking too!

As if I'd ever be social with anyone on Xbox LIVE or forums... ;)

Neither would I buy any console that requires fb.  I'm not a fb junkie but I do have an account.  Hardly ever use fb when at home though;  Mainly check it out at work.

What I do not like is being constantly asked to provide another email account or mobile number for "security reasons" when I'm checking into either my hotmail or my Live account.  I just bypass that sheet.

Count me in also. No Facebook/Twitter account and I do not plan to get either one of them. To each his/her own but I do not need this to be happy.

I'd be surprised if Facebook will be used as the only method of having an account on the next generation consoles.  It might be an option, but I can't see it being the only one.

I'm also not a big fan of social networking (my Facebook use is at a minimum and I don't have a Twitter account), and I'm doing just fine.
