SMC8014WN Router Connection Problems

My SMC8014WN router that I recently purchased will not connect with my Xbox 360. It will, however, connect with a Playstation 3 and a laptop. My 360 shows the network, but fails every time I try to connect to it. I could really use some help. I have a WPA-2 key and I have made sure that I am entering it correctly. My Xbox just seems to not want to connect to the network.

If it helps, my old router, albeit slower, did connect. It was also and SMC brand router.

Hey there! I just want to clarify that you can currently connect to LIVE when using your old wireless router, correct? Can you connect to LIVE via ethernet cable as well?

I can connect using my old wireless router, but it is very slow. Also, via ethernet, I could in theory, but, it's too far from my router. That's why I got a much more powerful router.

Could you try a different security setting? Such as WEP?

The other people using my router are worried about the security issue involved, where WPA2 is much safer than WEP. I would, if I could.

Hi,

Which wireless adapter are you using? White, Black or the inbuilt Xbox360S ?

Is the router set to transmit wireless at 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz or 5Ghz only?

Have you tried removing (as a test) any wireless security/mac address filters to see if you can connect then?

What version of firmware are you using?
