Slow xbox/profile/marketplace

It takes a long time to access my achievement list and marketplace from my console. I was able to solve this by formatting my hardrive, clearing cache and recovering my profile. Unfortunately the problem came back within a week.

I found that tranfering my profile to a USB storage device solves the problem but again this is temporary. I'm currently transerferring my profile back and forth between a USB stick and my hardrive whenever this issue occurs which is less than ideal. Any ideas on a permanent solution?

I get the same problem on two sperate memory sticks. Its fine for a few days then suddenly takes forever to bring up my achievements. Moving my profile always fixes it in the short term

Could you try removing the hard drive, and see if it helps?

I waited for the problem to resurface and removed the hard drive. When I signed in to live I was prompted to install an update. The console reset when the update was complete but will not boot passed the xbox logo. The only way I can start the xbox now is with the hard drive inserted!

How long have you had your console? This sounds like it might be an issue with the console itself.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm going to stick to transferring my profile weekly. Its a quick fix and seems to do the job for now and saves me shelling out for a new hard drive if that is the problem.

Hopefully the recently announced cloud storage will help.

Thanks again.
