Sign in, sign out, sign in, sign out...

I just noticed something earlier this morning:  everytime I go back to the dashboard, I get signed out of my profile.  I can sign back in but then if I select any app (like IE) I get signed out, only to get told I have to have a Gold sub.  And then I can sign back in.  I tried many times and always with the same results.  Gameplay does not seem affected.  The console just returned from the shop last week.  Is this something new?

This sounds like you might have a corrupted profile. Try these steps and let us know if it resolved your issue.

Delete Profile Safely:

1.Go to Settings, and then select System.

2.Select Storage.

3.Select All Devices.

4.Select Gamer Profiles.

5.Select the gamertag that you want to delete.

6.Select Delete.

7.Select one of the following:

◦Select Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements. > This is what you'd want to pick.

◦Select Delete Profile and Items to delete the profile and the associated saved games and achievements.

Download Profile Again:

1.Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).

2.Select Download Profile.

3.Enter the Windows Live ID associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

4.Now, enter your Windows Live ID password.

5.Select the storage device for your profile (for example, Hard Drive).

No need to delete profile really just to be safe. Just redownload your profile immediately by pressing the Xbox Button on your controller press X to sign out then you should have the option to Download Profile.

If there is an issue with your profile, you can mess it up more if you don't delete before redownloading it.

nah not really it will automatically overwrite the existing one. but when the time it says can't download profile most likely account is corrupted then you will need to delete.  but to be on the safe side and incase you forgot your username and password  at least you still have your account on your console and will be able to check on the details unlike if you delete and forgot those details then you're screwed you will have to go through the process of contacting support for account recovery.
