Should have known better than to get a Day One version...

...because now I'm stuck waiting a week at minimum for the local Gamestop to get more in so I can replace this piece of junk with one that actually works.

Disc drive issues.  Stick the disc in... slight whirring sound, then nothing... then it says it can't read the disc.  Doesn't work with ANY kind of disc.

Of all the things to screw up, the disc drive?  Seriously?  Probably should have licensed the drive from the PS3, cause that one worked without any issues - and still works for god's sake.

Risky, yes... but *** up the one thing every system, PC or console has had for the last 10 years?  That's just ridiculous.

How apt that sig I put on here like, 5 years ago turned out to be... man, I'm too deflated to even bother trying to get something out of this.  I guess time will tell whether I even bother with a replacement, instead of just getting a refund.

I would get a replacement. I know it would make me mad too if I were in your shoes, but you will be happy once it's up and running.

Things like that happen with all devices i know it sucks, when i got my first Xbox One it just made a grinding noise when putting a disc in, i just went back to the store and got it replaced.

You could try sending it in for repair with the Xbox Service Centre, that will cost though if its not under warranty.

Hope you manage to get this sorted!
